ISO/IEC 20000

ISO/IEC 20000 is recognized as the first international standard for IT service management, which stipulates that the service provider must plan, establish, implement, execute, monitor, review, maintain, and improve a Service Management System (SMS). The standard is organized into two main parts that allow IT service providers to identify methods for developing the quality of the services they provide to their clients, both internally and externally:

 – Part 1 specifies the requirements for the development and implementation of an IT service management system;

– Part 2 includes guidelines on the application of service management systems within the framework of ISO/IEC 20000-1.
