The Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) is the ideal certification for professionals with proven technical skills and practical, hands-on knowledge of security in operational IT roles.

It certifies the professional's ability to implement, monitor, and manage an IT infrastructure, in accordance with information security policies and procedures, to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

The wide range of topics covered by the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) of the SSCP ensures its relevance across all areas of information security.

Candidates who pass the certification master the following 7 domains :

  • Access Controls

  • Security Operations and Administration

  • Risk Identification, Monitoring, and Analysis

  • Incident Response and Recovery

  • Cryptography

  • Network and Communications Security

  • System and Application Security

  • Candidates must have at least 1 year of cumulative professional experience in one or more of the 7 domains of the SSCP CBK.
  • A waiver of the one-year experience requirement is granted to candidates who have obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of cybersecurity.

Candidates who do not yet have the required experience to obtain the certification SSCP can become an Associate of (ISC)² by passing the SSCP exam.

The Associate of (ISC)² then has 2 years to acquire the required year of professional experience in order to obtain the SSCP certification.

SSCP is in compliance with the stringent requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024.
